In my adult life, I’ve realised I make most decisions, big or small, based on gut instinct or naivety. It’s the naivety that keeps me confident—perhaps even slightly delusional—as it forces me to act without getting too bogged down by over-planning or the quest of unattainable perfection.
The same naivety sparked the creation of HAFH. From the outset, the project’s direction was murky. I’ve frequently said that while I had an idea of what HAFH was, I didn’t fully know what it could be. And so I plunged in with a basic plan, hoping clarity would somehow develop along the way.
For some, this isn’t naivety. It’s stupidity.
But indeed, the clarity I was looking for has come in several key moments. I’ve learnt a tremendous amount throughout this ongoing journey and am deeply grateful for the unexpected paths my naivety (or stupidity) has led me down.
For those who have been with HAFH from the beginning, the various changes in direction and focus may be bewildering. The evolution of this brand has been anything but predictable and stable.
I can assure you, though, that I feel like I’ve finally found my footing. I’ve been much clearer about what I want HAFH to be and the direction I want it to take. And it’s about bloody time.
To align with these insights, I started posting on this newsletter weekly, rather than fortnightly, which has already proven beneficial. Meanwhile, I remain largely uninspired by Instagram. While I’ve tried different strategies to stay engaged on there, nothing about it resonates with me as much as platforms like Substack or the HAFH website itself.
Anyways. I plan to split this newsletter into two parts. This week is another one of my brain dumps—to update you and set the stage for a more detailed discussion next week about the changes being made and the changes yet to come. Who knows, you might’ve already noticed some hints on Instagram and the website.
If you’ve been with HAFH from the beginning, your loyalty has not gone unnoticed. You’re what the youth call ‘a real one’. To our newer followers, I thank you as well and hope you’re excited about what’s ahead!
I’ll catch you next week.

Ok, I’m intrigued!
